Ben Strebel
Ben is a U.K.-based director whose style blends cinematic realism with a surreal twist. He creates a vivid filmic canvas with which to tell human stories – changing and diversifying the viewer’s perception of the world with a strong focus on storytelling, casting, technical prowess, and cinematography to bring his subjects to life.
Working across music videos, original content, and commercials, Ben has developed a diverse portfolio of critically acclaimed work, picking up awards including Gold and Bronze Lions at Cannes, a Young Directors Award, and D&AD Pencils. He has directed memorable fashion content for Vivienne Westwood, commercials for Nike, Lexus, Nissan, Apple, Adidas, BMW, DeLeón, Jagermeister, Samsonite, EE x iPhone, and Virgin Atlantic, and music videos including the award-winning “Butterflies” for Skrillex featuring Starrah and Four Tet. Ben also created a stunning two-minute film for the British Heart Foundation, voiced by Cillian Murphy, which advocates for medical research and innovation. His award-winning collaborations with Make My Money Matter include “The Hidden Relationship” starring Game of Thrones on-screen lovers turned real-life married couple, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, and “Beep” starring Ambika Mod. Using searingly dark wit, these spots call out U.K. banks for financing the fossil fuel companies that are destroying the planet. Ben has recently completed the short film Acts of Kindness (2025) starring Mia Tharia (Klara and the Sun) and Sam Spruell (The Thing with Feathers, Fargo, The Settlers, Legend), and written by playwright Cordelia Lynn, based on Ben’s original idea.
Ben is represented by Biscuit Filmworks in the U.S. and U.K.
