GENESIS is an ongoing project led by artist and researcher Sougwen Chung exploring the evolution of the drawn line and the robotic form. The project begins with a collection of speculative machine constructions inspired by living organisms. These forms were sculpted by the artist in VR, with her gestures recorded by state of the art motion capture technology, and later brought to life with a customized 3D printing process developed exclusively for this project. Over time the GENESIS Process, Form, & Dataset are being built to further the development of post-human collaboration and the creation of symbiotic machines.
