Phoebe Arnstein

Phoebe Arnstein has amassed a body of work that is thought-provoking, sensorial, and grounded in a way that feels both universal and personal all at once. Her films span commercials, narrative, and documentary genres, with select projects featuring her unique mixed-media approach, integrating stills she captures into moving images for added impact.  Phoebe’s instinct for casting brings depth to every role and roots her films in reality, and her use of visual metaphors and sophisticated camera techniques always serve to further the story. Her brand collaborations include campaigns for British Airways, Huel, Burger King, and De Beers. She also wrote and directed the narrative short, If You’re Happy, which is a visually arresting, meditative piece starring Erin Doherty (Adolescence, The Crown). The film is available to stream on Disney+. Born and bred in London, Phoebe fell in love with photography, which ultimately led to filmmaking, and she began her career in the camera department, working on features and television dramas. This experience deepened her desire to have greater influence over character and story, and has informed how she approaches her cast and characters as a director.   Phoebe’s work has won awards at Ciclope, the British Arrows, Creative Circle, Kinsale Sharks, and the Young Director Awards, and has played in competition at multiple BAFTA- and Academy Award-qualifying festivals worldwide.  Biscuit represents Phoebe globally, except in Germany, where she is repped by Zauberberg.
