Molly Manners

Molly Manners is a director and writer known for her versatility in creating both dramatic and comedic content, including commercials, short films, branded content, and episodic projects. She is a BAFTA Award-winning director whose work has also received accolades from D&AD, British Arrows, and Creative Circle, and she was named one of Campaign Magazine’s Future Creative Leaders, and ranked #3 for Director of the Year and #1 for Campaign of the Year by Campaign’s The Lists 2025. Most recently, she was lead director on the 14-episode Netflix series “One Day,” based on the bestselling novel by David Nicholls, directing the first three episodes and the finale. The series featured Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall in breakthrough roles and received critical acclaim. “One Day” was Netflix’s most-watched series globally the week following its release, garnering nearly ten million views, and later earned an RTS Craft & Design Award. The show was also nominated for the BAFTAs in the Direction, Writing, and Limited Drama Series categories. Molly’s latest project, her feature film “Extra Geography,” is an adaptation of Rose Tremain’s short story of the same name and will premiere at Sundance International Film Festival in 2026. Molly’s additional narrative projects include her short film “Here Boy,” which received funding through Creative England + BFI’s Funny Girls/iShorts program and later was picked up by Amazon Prime. She also directed an episode of Sky Arts’ comedy series “Urban Myths,” focusing on a 1984 encounter between Andy Warhol and Donald Trump. Molly directed the second series of the BAFTA Award-winning “In My Skin,” which continues to follow the story of Welsh teenager Bethan (Gabrielle Creevy) as she navigates a mentally ill mother, an abusive father, friendships, and sexuality.  Born and raised in London, Molly began her career at Channel 4’s in-house agency 4Creative, where she created award-winning TV promo campaigns, including “Funny Fortnight” and “Short Shorts.” As a commercial director, she has helmed major campaigns for Kopparberg, McDonald’s, Diet Coke, Sport Relief, Nurofen, and others. She is represented by Biscuit Filmworks in the U.K.
