Matthew Dillon Cohen is best known for his visual storytelling, with vivid colors and stunning cinematic realness. The inventive filmmaker continues to hone his distinctive eye while displaying proficiency in conveying moving, detailed narratives within short timeframes.  Matthew has helmed projects for artists like Gus Dapperton, Bon Iver, and Olivia Rodrigo, along with several collaborations with Zach Bryan; most notably, “Nine Ball,” which stars Matthew McConaughey and was shot on 35mm film, with the actor portraying a flawed father who teaches his son to become an expert pool shark. His international work with brands includes campaigns with Converse, Adidas, Citi, Prada, Nike x Foot Locker, Vogue, New Balance, and Ralph Lauren. Matthew’s dynamic film “Deaf Hoops,” for Facebook, features deaf basketball players using American Sign Language while on the court, while “It’s Oh So Quiet” is sung by Betty Hutton in the background. In 2025, Matthew made his Super Bowl debut with the “Own The Dream” spot for Rocket Mortgage, which went on to earn Gold at Cannes Lions. Matthew is a New Jersey-born, New York-based self-taught director and photographer who began his career in music journalism while still a teenager, moving on to become a music video producer while in college. His varied background and close collaboration with artists have served to provide him with a vast network of young emerging talent, many of whom he’s gone on to direct first-time films and visual content for over the past decade.
